What is Trex Fencing?trex fencing

Understanding Trex Fencing

Trex fencing is a composite fence made from a blend of recycled wood and plastic. This innovative material offers the beauty of natural wood without the hassle of ongoing maintenance. Unlike traditional wood fences, trex fencing resists rot, warping, and insect damage, making it a long-lasting and environmentally friendly option.

The Composition of Trex Fencing

Trex fencing is composed of 95% recycled materials, including reclaimed wood and recycled plastic. This composition not only makes trex fencing an eco-friendly choice but also provides exceptional durability and resistance to the elements. The unique manufacturing process results in a product that looks and feels like natural wood but performs far better over time.

Benefits of Trex Fencing

Advantages of Choosing Trex Fencing

Durability and Longevity

One of the most significant advantages of trex fencing is its durability. Unlike wood, trex does not splinter, crack, or rot. It is also resistant to insect damage, mold, and mildew. This means that a trex fence will look great and perform well for many years with minimal maintenance.

Low Maintenance

Trex fencing requires very little maintenance compared to traditional wood fencing. There is no need for painting, staining, or sealing. An occasional cleaning with soap and water is all that’s required to keep a trex fence looking new.

Aesthetic Appeal

Trex fencing is designed to mimic the natural beauty of wood. It is available in various colors and styles, allowing homeowners to choose a look that complements their property. Whether you prefer a classic wood grain or a sleek modern finish, trex fencing offers options to suit any aesthetic preference.

Environmental Benefits

By using recycled materials, trex fencing helps reduce waste and conserves natural resources. Choosing trex is an environmentally responsible decision that contributes to sustainability efforts.

Installation of Trex Fencing

How Draper Fencing Installs Trex Fencing

Installing Trex fencing is straightforward, thanks to its innovative design. At Draper Fencing, we ensure a seamless and professional installation process. Here’s a step-by-step guide to our approach:

Planning and Preparationtrex fencing

Measure Your Property

Our team starts by measuring the length and layout of your fence. This helps us accurately calculate the materials needed for the installation.

Obtain Necessary Permits

We handle the necessary permits, ensuring compliance with local regulations for your fence installation.

Gather Materials and Tools

We ensure all materials, including trex fence panels, posts, and hardware, are on hand. Our tools include a post-hole digger, level, and drill to guarantee a smooth installation process.

Installing the Fence Posts

Mark Post Locations

We use stakes and string to outline the fence line, carefully marking the locations for the posts to ensure precise placement.

Dig Post Holes

Our team digs holes for the posts, ensuring they are deep enough to provide stability and withstand various weather conditions.

Set Posts in Concrete

We place the posts in the holes and fill them with concrete, ensuring the posts are level and plumb for a solid foundation.

Attaching the Fence Panels

Install Rails

We attach the top and bottom rails to the posts using the provided brackets, ensuring a secure and stable framework for the fence panels.

Attach Fence Panels

The trex fence panels are then secured to the rails. Our team ensures they are level and evenly spaced for a uniform and polished appearance.

Finish with Caps

To complete the installation, we place post caps on top of the posts, adding a finished and stylish look to your trex fence.

Maintenance of Trex Fencing

Keeping Your Trex Fence in Top Condition

Maintaining a trex fence is simple and requires minimal effort. Here are some tips to keep your fence looking its best:

Regular Cleaning

Clean your trex fence periodically with soap and water to remove dirt and debris. A soft brush can be used to scrub away stubborn spots.

Inspecting for Damage

Although trex fencing is highly durable, it’s a good idea to inspect it occasionally for any signs of damage. Check for loose panels or hardware and make necessary repairs promptly.

Avoiding Harsh Chemicals

Avoid using harsh chemicals or power washers on your trex fence, as they can damage the surface. Stick to mild detergents and water for cleaning.
